Program Overview


Photonics Summer Camp (PSC)

Overview

The KAUST Photonics Summer Camp (PSC) is a sponsored research program that lasts from 4 weeks to 4 months. It comprises a core of hands-on, cutting-edge research projects in various areas of modern photonics, accompanied by workshops and technical training in using state-of-the-art nanofabrication and imaging facilities.


Program Details

The program offers undergraduates and Master's students from across the globe the opportunity to participate in a research project in contemporary areas of photonics, such as:


  • Semiconductor lasers
  • Photonic integrated circuits
  • Quantum technologies
  • Optical communications
  • Neuromorphic computing
  • Hyper-vision systems

Eligibility and Application Requirements

To be eligible for the program, candidates must:


  1. Meet the academic requirements, including:
  • Being recent graduates, senior undergraduates, or current master's students in electrical and computer engineering, physics, or related disciplines
  • Having a cumulative GPA of 3.5 out of 4.00 or higher
  • Possessing strong English language proficiency
  • Demonstrating a strong motivation to work on research projects
  1. Submit a complete application package, including:
  • An up-to-date curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Official transcripts (in English)
  • A copy of passport
  1. Pass interviews with KAUST faculty and administration
