Program Description
The Computer Engineering department at Taif University was established in September 2004 and has since developed into one of the most active departments in the university, focusing on teaching, research, and service. The BSCE program was created to respond to the growing needs of the computer sector in the Kingdom. The program aims to produce graduates who will become leaders in a wide range of computer engineering specialties, creating new knowledge, products, and services. Graduates will enhance the economic welfare of the region and the Kingdom through a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and entrepreneurship.

The mission of the program is to provide high-quality education in computer engineering, preparing graduates to reach their full potential in the field of computer engineering, industrial professions, research, and higher studies.

The objectives of the program are:

Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the Computer Engineering program at Taif University, applicants must:
- Hold a Saudi General Secondary Education Certificate or its equivalent from abroad.
- Be a Saudi citizen at the time of application or of direct Saudi origin from the mother's or father's side, or a foreigner with a valid residence permit at the time of application to the university.
- Not have obtained their secondary education certificate or its equivalent more than five years prior to application, unless exempted by the university council or its delegate.
- Pass any test or personal interview set by the university council or its delegate.
- Be medically fit.
- Obtain approval from their reference to dedicate themselves to study.
- Meet any other conditions set by the university council or its delegate and announced at the time of application.
- Not have been dismissed from the university or any other university due to disciplinary action, unless exempted by the university president or their delegate.
- Not be enrolled in another university inside or outside the Kingdom.
- Not have obtained the academic degree they are applying for.
- It is not permissible to accept a student for two academic degrees at the same time.
Graduation Requirements
The degree offered by the Computer Engineering department is a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Students are not allowed to graduate unless they have completed all the requirements of the degree and have been approved by the registration office. The EREG monitors students' progress toward completing program requirements, and the academic advisor provides guidance to complete program requirements. Students must follow the university's rules and regulations and complete each course in the curriculum successfully to obtain the degree. Based on Taif University's policy, to be eligible to apply for graduation in computer engineering, students must:
- Complete 160 credits or more with a cumulative GPA of at least 1.75.
- The computer engineering degree requirements consist of:
- 30 credits from mathematics
- 13 credits from natural sciences
- 8 credits from English language (university requirements)
- 18 credits from Islamic studies and common courses (university requirements)
- 82 credits from computer engineering
- 9 credits from computer engineering elective courses
