The College of Engineering offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, requiring the completion of 166 credited hours, distributed according to the study plan. Additionally, students must complete an eight-week summer training after finishing 112 credited hours and undertake a research project over two semesters after completing 132 credited hours.
Program Mission
The mission of the Electrical Engineering program is to provide a high-quality educational program that meets national and international standards, through an academic environment that encourages community partnership to support the knowledge economy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Program Educational Objectives
In line with its mission and vision, the Electrical Engineering program aims to produce electrical engineers with a strong foundation in relevant sciences and technologies, capable of contributing to society through practice, innovation, projects, and leadership. The program expects its graduates to achieve the following within a few years of graduation:
- Work as professional electrical engineers in their field of specialization.
- Continuously improve their skills and acquire new knowledge about technologies in their field of specialization.
- Advance in their professional lives and achieve leadership roles.
Student Outcomes
Upon graduation, students are expected to demonstrate the following abilities:
- Identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
- Apply engineering design to arrive at solutions that meet specified needs, considering public health, safety, welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
- Communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
- Recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, considering the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
- Function effectively in a team, providing leadership together, creating a collaborative and inclusive environment, setting goals, planning tasks, and achieving objectives.
- Develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
- Acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
