Oral and Dental Health Program

The Department of Oral and Dental Health was established to serve the local community in the Qassim region and graduate highly qualified health cadres to meet the needs of the community in this field. The study plan for the Department of Oral and Dental Health was developed in cooperation with the Pattison Institute in the United States of America, which is one of the distinguished institutes in the field of oral and dental health at the international level.

The program aims to create a healthy community and minimize treatment costs related to oral and dental treatment.

Learning Outcomes

After successfully completing the program's graduation requirements, the student will be able to:

  1. Remember the definitions, theories, and applications of various applied and basic health sciences.
  2. Describe the etiology, epidemiology, and pathophysiology of oral diseases.
  3. Describe the symptoms, signs, diagnosis, and treatment of oral and dental diseases.
  4. Appreciates the importance of infection control protocols and their application in oral health.

II: Cognitive Skills

  1. Developing an oral and dental health care plan in collaboration with multidisciplinary health care teams to promote oral health in the community.
  2. Conducting scientific research in the field of oral and dental care.
  3. Evaluating the causes and effects of oral and dental diseases, in order to treat and prevent them.
  4. Differentiate between different tools, equipment, and biomaterials related to oral health practice.
