Overview
The Bachelor of Fashion Design program was established in 1429 AH/2008 AD and is one of the programs offered by the Department of Fashion Design at the College of Arts and Design. The program accepts female students according to the study and testing regulations for the university stage and its executive regulations, as well as any decisions issued by the university council in this regard.
Program Objectives
- Emphasize the quality of education and achieve excellence in the field of fashion design.
- Enhance students' technical and artistic skills to compete professionally in the field of fashion design.
- Improve the quality of research production in the field of fashion design to meet the requirements of sustainable development.
- Activate partnership and cooperation with various community parties and educational institutions.
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge and Understanding:
- Explain specialized knowledge, theories, principles, and concepts in the field of fashion design and textile marketing.
- Demonstrate specialized knowledge and understanding of the latest developments in the field of fashion design and sewing.
- Identify and understand the deep knowledge of processes, procedures, materials, techniques, and practices in the field of fashion design and textiles.
Skills:
- Use advanced processes, techniques, tools, equipment, and materials to perform complex and varied practical activities.
- Choose and use a variety of digital technology and information technology tools and applications to process and analyze data and information.
- Employ critical thinking skills to analyze problems and issues in complex contexts.
- Use scientific methods and techniques to investigate complex issues related to the development of fashion and textiles.
- Apply a range of tasks and procedures to apply the rules of design and implement them in the production of garments and accessories.

- Manage tasks and activities related to dealing with machines and equipment in the field of fashion design, demonstrating commitment to professional values, standards, and ethics.

Program Message
The program aims to prepare scientific and professional cadres in the field of fashion design, supporting sustainable development and meeting the needs of the labor market through the advancement of the educational, research, and community partnership process.
Study Plan
To obtain a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, students must complete 136 credit hours distributed over eight levels of study. The study plan includes:
- University requirements (12 credit hours)
- College requirements (31 credit hours, compulsory, and 6 credit hours, elective)
- Department requirements (59 credit hours, compulsory, and 14 credit hours, elective, from within the department, and 8 credit hours from outside the department)
- Free courses (6 credit hours)
