Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering Program

The Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) program is designed to provide students with advanced knowledge and skills in mechanical engineering. The program has separate prerequisites for the university, the college, and the department, in addition to courses that meet program needs.


Program Plan Requirements

The study plan for the Mechanical Engineering Department is designed to fulfill two main requirements. The first requirement is a college prerequisite, consisting of courses in mathematics and science. The second requirement pertains to departmental standards, encompassing advanced mechanical engineering courses organized into four primary tracks:


  • Renewable Energy
  • Thermofluid Sciences
  • Materials and Manufacturing Engineering
  • Design and Applied Mechanics

Course Coding System

The course coding for the mechanical engineering program was established following the guidelines provided by the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research. The first digit is consistently set to 7 for all courses, while the second digit corresponds to the specific track.


MSME Program Curriculum

The MSME program lasts for two academic years and consists of four levels. Instruction will be conducted in English. The program includes both courses and a graduation project. To complete the program, a total of 30 credit hours is required, which comprises 24 credit hours for courses and 6 credit hours for the project.
