Introduction to the Clinical Training Program
The Clinical Training Program at King Khalid University College of Dentistry is a non-degree program designed for dentists seeking to enhance their knowledge and experience in various dental specialties. This program offers high-quality educational activities, practical experience, and observation of clinical patient care provided by specialist consultants in a dental hospital.
Program Duration
The program's duration can range from a minimum of three months to a maximum of one year, depending on the applicant's desire and the availability of seats. The program is extendable for six months and a year.
Program Specialties
The Clinical Training Program covers the following specialties:
- Restorative dentistry
- Prosthodontics
- Endodontics
- Orthodontics
- Pediatric dentistry
- Periodontics
- Oral and maxillofacial surgery
- Oral medicine/oral pathology
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Obtain a Bachelor's degree in Dental Surgery (BDS)
- Hold a valid professional classification from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties
- Possess a basic life support (BLS) certificate
- Be fully available during the training period
Required Documents for Application
The following documents are required for the application:
- A copy of the national ID card
- A copy of the Bachelor's degree in Dental Surgery (BDS) and the academic record
- A copy of the professional classification from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties
- Curriculum vitae
- Basic life support (BLS) certificate
- A copy of the Saudi license examination score for professional practice
Program Fees
A fee of 2000 riyals will be collected for each month, and the fees should be paid for the full period that the applicant applied for in one payment.
Withdrawing Process
Any trainee withdrawing from the program must submit a withdrawal request to the program director during the first week of starting training. The program committee will evaluate the withdrawal request and provide recommendations to the program director for the final decision. After the final decision is made, the trainee will be notified of the decision and the percentage of fees that will be returned.
Important Information
Applicants should note the following:
- The program does not grant an academic degree and only grants a certificate of completion of training.
- The program will not afford any clinical privileges and responsibilities, and it will not be accepted as work experience to apply for a license through the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
- The training center will be at the University Dental Hospital, College of Dentistry, King Khalid University.
