Description The overall objective of this course is to equip learners with the fundamental writing, reading, communication, and critical thinking skills most relevant for further studies. These include active participation and engagement in real-life learning scenarios, the ability to generate and develop ideas in speaking and writing, and showing understanding of extended spoken and written texts through summary and synthesis. Lecture 3 hours/week. Pre-requisite: Placement exam; EmSAT=1100 or IELTS score >= 5.0 or equivalent.
