Program Overview
Master of Sports Management
The American University in the Emirates has developed a strong and comprehensive Master of Sports Management (MSM) Program, providing guidance and leadership to the sports sector across the UAE and the GCC region. This program develops and enhances management, sport, and business skills to effectively govern sport-related organizations.
About the Program
The MSM program is built for advanced students to expand their skills and competencies for the dynamic world of sport. The program is structured to enable students to pursue further academic and professional development. The strategic approach of the AUE is to place the MSM program as a leading program for studies on the sport-related industry, serving as a hub for delivering education, consulting, and extensive networking.
Program Learning Outcomes
The program learning outcomes include:
- Integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills across sport management functional competency areas.
- Demonstrating critical thinking by evaluating the economic, ethical, social, and legal impacts of sport management decisions and issues.
- Demonstrating professional written, oral, and technical communication skills.
- Conducting academic and professional research; collecting, evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting data.
- Evaluating key similarities and differences across diverse regional and global sport management contexts and collaborating with diverse individuals across various sport organizations.

Graduation Requirements
To complete the graduate degree, students must satisfy the following requirements:
- Earn a minimum CGPA of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00.
- Successfully complete all courses as described in the study plan.
- Meet the degree completion requirements within the timeframe of the program.
- Successfully complete the "Thesis" course.
Accreditation
The American University in the Emirates is licensed by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research – Commission for Academic Accreditation.

The program consists of:
- Bridging Courses: 5 courses, 10 credit hours
- Core Courses: 7 courses, 21 credit hours
- Elective Courses: 2 courses, 6 credit hours
- Thesis: 2 courses, 6 credit hours

Fee Structure
- Duration: 2 years
- Yearly Tuition Fees: AED 57,800/USD 15,739 (VAT 5% inclusive, excluding service fees)

Joining the Program
Students can join anytime during the year and at the beginning of any block.
Attendance
- Weekday classes: various timings
- Weekend classes: Saturday-Sunday, 9:00 am-12:00 pm or 2:00 pm-5:00 pm
Equine Management Concentration
Upon completion of the Sports Management program, graduates have the opportunity to possess a specialized concentration in Equine Management. This concentration requires 4 additional courses (12 credit hours).
