The American University in the Emirates (AUE) proudly launches the Master of Architecture program at the College of Design, starting Spring 2026. This program is designed for future architects who want to shape cities, create sustainable designs, and lead in a fast-changing world.

The M.Arch. program combines advanced design studios, technology, and sustainability, preparing graduates to play a key role in the growth of the UAE and beyond. Program Structure

The Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) offers two pathways, depending on the student's previous degree. Both lead to the same professional M.Arch. qualification.

M.Arch. I

• Who can apply: Students with a 4-year bachelor's degree in Architecture (B.Sc.) or other related fields such as Interior Design, Arts, Sciences, or Journalism.
• Credits: 60 graduate credits
• What you get: A full professional foundation that builds on the undergraduate background and develops core architectural skills.

M.Arch. II (Advanced Standing)

• Who can apply: Students with a 5-year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.).
• Credits: 30 graduate credits
• What you get: Advanced placement that recognizes prior training, focusing on research, innovation, and higher-level studios.

Fee Structure

• Duration: 2 Years
• Yearly Tuition Fees: AED 39,000/USD 10,619 (VAT 5% inclusive, excluding service fees)
• Note: Yearly fees will vary depending on the number of courses enrolled.
• Scholarships: Scholarships up to 50% are available.

Core Courses

1. Educational Research Methods – (3 credits) This course provides an in-depth understanding of research methodologies in education.
2. Educational Philosophy and Theory – (3 credits) Explores key theories and philosophies that have shaped education.
3. Teaching, Learning, & Assessment in Global Context – (3 credits) Focuses on adapting and implementing teaching methods to meet the unique needs of learners from various backgrounds.
4. Comparative and International Education – (3 credits) Provides an in-depth exploration of the principles and practices of assessment and evaluation in various educational contexts.
5. Innovative Curriculum Development for Global Competence – (3 credits) Equips educators with the skills and knowledge necessary to design curricula that foster global competence.
6. Cultural Diversity and Inclusion in Education – (3 credits) Explores strategies to create and maintain inclusive educational environments that value and celebrate cultural diversity.

Thesis

• Thesis 1 – (3 credits) Students work with their thesis supervisor to develop a thesis proposal and begin their distinctive, applied research project.
• Thesis 2 – (3 credits) Students continue developing their thesis project, revising techniques, addressing challenges, analyzing findings, and eventually articulating the complete experience.
