What to Expect

The Applied Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering is a four-year program based on the vocational curriculum for higher education awards. Students enrolled in this program will gain a range of essential competencies in areas relevant to their current or intended employment, such as CAD, drafting, engineering design, engineering management, employability skills, and project management.

Career Opportunities

Mechanical engineers are sought-after in all types of industries, such as construction, marine, power generation, automotive, oil and gas, and aeromechanical engineering. The Applied Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering program helps learners build a firm foundation for employment. Graduates may choose to pursue higher education (Master's and PhD degrees) in several engineering disciplines, including Mechanical, Aeronautical, Petroleum Engineering, and power generation.

Practical Experience

In collaboration with EK Engineering, the Emirates Group, and other industrial partners, the university offers its active students a six-month industrial internship. This is embedded into the curriculum of the program and weighs fifteen credits in semester 6 of their studies.

Accreditation for Prior Learning (APL)

APL is an academic process that recognizes and values previous study. APL is allowed in Year 1, Year 2, and Year 3, enabling students to skip modules if they have completed similar modules in another institution.
