Overview

This qualification aims to develop learners' understanding of autism and the principles of supporting individuals with autism. It covers the person-centred approach and the influence of positive communication methods, how to support positive behaviour, and how individuals with autism can be supported to live healthy and fulfilled lives.

Pre-Requisites

• Learners should be employed in a position or have access to resources that would allow them to naturally generate evidence as per the qualification specification.
  • Learners must be aged 14 or over
  • Proficient in the English language and literacy, numeracy, and health and safety aspects as related to the qualification.
  • Learners need to be working, volunteering, or on practical placement.

Target Group

The target group for this qualification is educators who deal with learners with autism. Note that this is a knowledge-only qualification, which doesn't require the learner to have a job.
