Overview

This qualification provides an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children or young people in primary, secondary, or special schools. It includes learning about children and young people's development, safeguarding their welfare, and communication.

Pre-Requisites

• Learners should be employed in a position or have access to resources that would allow them to naturally generate evidence as per the qualification specification.
• Learners must be aged 14 or over.
• Learners must be proficient in the English language and literacy, numeracy, and health and safety aspects as related to the qualification.

Target Group

This qualification is intended for those who seek to work in a school support role and is suitable as initial training.
