Program Overview

The Master's in Fiqh of Reality program is designed to emphasize and establish the concept of Fiqh and its principles, studying events and developments, and contributing to meeting the needs of institutions in the United Arab Emirates for specialists in Islamic jurisprudence. These specialists are characterized by their combination of religious knowledge and rigorous scientific research, based on correct research methods and original sources, and balanced by a correct understanding of legislative texts.


Program Objectives

The program aims to produce active religious knowledge that considers the goals of legislation, balances the controls of correct Ijtihad, and meets the different requirements of the era.

The curriculum for the Master's in Fiqh of Reality includes the following courses:


  • Methodology of Dealing with Texts: 3 credits, online
  • Theory of Legislative Intentions: 3 credits, on-campus
  • Fiqh of Applying Rulings to Events: 3 credits, on-campus
  • Fatwa Industry: 3 credits, online
  • Intentions of Transactions: 3 credits, on-campus
  • Legal Texts and Terminology in English: 3 credits, on-campus
  • Terrorism Rulings: 3 credits, online

Program Outcomes

Upon completing the program, students will be able to:


  1. Communicate and interact positively with local and international communities using various tools.
  2. Master research and critical thinking skills, with a keen pursuit of professional development and continuous learning, to find appropriate solutions to contemporary issues in line with the values of flexibility, moderation, and balance.
  3. Acquire public speaking and persuasion skills to build a moderate personality in thought and behavior, balanced in discourse and framing, capable of clarifying misconceptions about Islam and refuting doubts about it.
  4. Influence others' thoughts with argument and evidence, and a scientific approach, without exaggeration.
  5. Possess a mechanism for Ijtihad to resolve disputes and issues that arise in society, and to clarify the ruling in accordance with the intentions of the legislation and the controls of fatwa.

Thesis

  • Thesis: 9 credits, focusing on original research in the field of Fiqh of Reality.

Program Structure

The Master's program in Fiqh of Reality is structured to provide a comprehensive education in Islamic jurisprudence, with a focus on the application of Fiqh principles to real-world events and issues. The program consists of 36 credit hours, including 27 hours of compulsory courses and 9 hours dedicated to the thesis.
