Introduction to Sharjah Performing Arts Academy

The Sharjah Performing Arts Academy (SPAA) is the UAE's premier institution dedicated to nurturing and developing talent in the performing arts and music. Established in 2019, SPAA offers a comprehensive education that integrates rigorous training with academic study.

Programs Offered

SPAA offers a range of programs, including:

• BA in Musical Theatre
• BA in Acting
• BA in Production Arts
• Trinity Dance Diploma
• Master of Fine Arts
• BMus in Western Music Performance
• BMus in Arabic Music Performance
• BTEC International Level 2 Award in Performing Arts

Children and Young Performers Programs

SPAA also offers programs for children and young performers, including:

• Dance classes, such as Contemporary Dance, ISTD Modern/Jazz Dance, and ISTD Ballet
• Tricks n Tumbles, a lively and engaging class that introduces young performers to the exciting world of acrobatics and circus-inspired movement
• Street Dance / Hip-Hop, a fun and funky dance class that incorporates essential components of street dance/hip-hop

Program Details

Contemporary Dance

Contemporary dance is an expressive dance style that combines elements of several dance genres, including modern, jazz, ballet, and lyrical. During classes, students will explore a variety of contemporary techniques, including improvisation, floorwork, balance, swing, and tilt.

ISTD Modern/Jazz Dance

ISTD Modern/Jazz dance incorporates many different styles, from lyrical to funky. A lot of emphasis is given to stretching and strengthening the body with lots of floor and limbering exercises. Following the ISTD syllabi, SPAA offers Modern/Jazz classes from the age of 6 years.

ISTD Ballet

The Imperial Classical Ballet Faculty offers a comprehensive program of competitions and events to foster participation in Imperial Ballet for young children, vocational students, and teachers. SPAA teaches from Pre-Primary to Advanced 1.

Tricks n Tumbles

Tricks 'n Tumbles provides a fantastic foundation for children to build resilience and spatial awareness, as well as enhancing their performance skills for both dance and theatre.

Street Dance / Hip-Hop

Street Dance / Hip-Hop is a fun and funky dance class that incorporates essential components of street dance/hip-hop, including rhythm, personality, uniqueness, creativity, and social interaction.

Programme Fees

The Academy works on a 9/10-week term, and classes are to be paid in advance for the full term. Fees can be paid by card at the Academy or via payment link.

• Term 1 (9 weeks): 9 × AED 80 = AED 720
• Term 2 (10 weeks): 10 × AED 80 = AED 800
• Term 3 (10 weeks): 10 × AED 80 = AED 800
• New CYP students will have an AED 125 registration/administration fee applied to their invoice.
