Introduction to Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management
The Department of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management at the University of Sharjah was established in 2006 and offers a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management, as well as Master's and Doctoral degrees in Engineering Management. The department is one of the largest in the College of Engineering, with over 330 undergraduate students, 270 master's students, and 100 doctoral students.
Program Overview
The Bachelor's program is distinguished by its unique blend of engineering principles and business experience, aiming to enhance efficiency, productivity, and sustainability. Students can choose between a traditional capstone design project and a cooperative training option in industry, providing real-world engineering experience. The Bachelor's program also includes a specialization in Industry 4.0, offering a range of certificates that equip students with advanced skills and knowledge in the latest technologies.
Accreditation and Recognition
The Department of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) in both Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management. It is the first in the region to achieve this dual accreditation, with curricula and research recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the UAE.
