Overview
The Oil & Gas Production Chemistry program is designed to address the operational constraints that arise with the maturity of oil fields, including increased water production, depletion of reservoir pressure, and external materials injected into the reservoir for stimulation and Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) activities. The program focuses on developing skills in identifying the source of problems and the judicial use of chemicals and treatment methods to maintain production.

Course Description
The program covers various aspects of production chemistry, including the use of chemicals for controlling corrosion, emulsions, foaming, mineral scales, paraffin (waxes), asphaltenes, gas hydrates, hydrogen sulfide scavengers, and water clarifiers. It also includes methods to determine the need for chemical treatment, how to select the proper chemicals, and how testing for chemical compatibility with the formation and other chemicals is performed.
