Senior Design Project I

Description

The Senior Design Project I is a course that involves participation in team projects dealing with the design and development of a product, process, or system. A number of projects will be offered by the different departments, some of which will be multi-disciplinary in nature. The design projects require students to apply a systems approach in solving a real-world problem. Students will draw upon their engineering background, experience, and other pertinent resources.

Course Requirements

• The projects require students to:
  • Address constraints, including:
    • Economic
    • Environment
    • Social
    • Political
    • Health and safety
    • Manufacturability
    • Sustainability
  • Identify and apply the relevant engineering standards
• Oral and written presentations are required
• Some teams receive an assignment with industry clients
