Master in Quran and Sunnah Sciences

The Master in Quran and Sunnah Sciences program is designed to provide students with a deep understanding of the Quran and Sunnah, as well as the skills to analyze and interpret them. The program aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become specialists in the field of Quran and Sunnah studies.


Program Objectives

The program has several objectives, including:

Program Structure

The program consists of 33 credit hours, including 24 hours of coursework and 9 hours of thesis research. The coursework includes:


  • 15 hours of required courses, including:
    • Methods of Research in Tafsir and Hadith
    • Advanced Study of Quranic Sciences
    • Advanced Study of Hadith Sciences
    • Study of Illal and Asanid
    • Advanced Study of Tafsir and Hadith
  • 9 hours of elective courses, including:
    • Advanced Study of Tafsir al-Mawdoo'i
    • Advanced Study of Tafsir al-Bayani
    • Study of Quranic Readings and their Direction
    • Study of the Text of Tafsir Books
    • Study of the Problems of the Quran and their Solutions

Thesis Research

The thesis research component of the program requires students to conduct original research on a topic related to Quran and Sunnah studies. The research should demonstrate a deep understanding of the topic, as well as the ability to analyze and interpret the relevant data.


Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the program, students must meet the following requirements:


  • Hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Islamic studies or Arabic language and literature.
  • Have a strong academic record, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Arabic language, with a minimum score of 500 on the TOEFL exam or equivalent.
