Master of Science in Clinical Pharmacy
The Master of Science in Clinical Pharmacy is a two-year program that includes one year of coursework and one year of dissertation work. The total number of credits required for the program is 40, consisting of:
- Courses: 22 credits
- Dissertation and research seminar: 18 credits
Program Outcomes
Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of pharmacotherapeutics, pharmacokinetics, and clinical pharmacy practice.
- Illustrate the principles of safe and effective use of medications in patient and population-based care.
- Critically analyze scientific literature on drugs, diseases, and technologies to enhance clinical decision-making and research.
- Design a customized pharmaceutical care plan to optimize therapeutic outcomes and ensure patient safety.
- Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals in various practice settings.
- Apply evidence-based medicine, ethics, and patient safety concepts in clinical pharmacy practice and research.
- Manage drug-related problems as part of the healthcare team to improve the quality of patient care.
- Demonstrate professional leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainability in clinical pharmacy practice and research.
- Solve pharmaceutical care issues independently and as a team member to enhance therapeutic outcomes.
- Deliver patient-centered and population-based care in a legal, ethical, and compassionate manner.
- Exhibit appropriate skills for independent and lifelong learning for continuous professional development.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to create an intra- and interprofessional approach to patient and population-centered care.
Accreditation and Recognition
All programs offered by the university are accredited by the Ministry of Education, UAE, and recognized by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The College of Pharmacy has obtained dual national and international accreditation for its Bachelor of Pharmacy program from the American Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA).
