Program Overview
Global Education
Global Education is an essential component of NYU Abu Dhabi's educational mission and curriculum. It is realized through a careful sequence of interrelated academic and intercultural experiences over four years that foster greater intercultural understanding towards social responsibility globally and locally.
J-Term
J-Term courses are designed as highly immersive learning experiences that take place during the year. Intellectually linked to their locations, J-Term takes advantage of local resources; explore the history, culture, economy, and society of the host communities. The courses illuminate the interdependence of local knowledge and global awareness while fostering cross-cultural research and insights into complex global issues.
Semester Abroad
Students may spend up to two semesters of their NYUAD education studying abroad in NYU's Global Network of academic centers.
Summer Experiential Learning Abroad
During the summer, undergraduate students are able to engage in full-time research and internships in world-class institutions around the world. This gives students the opportunity to hone their research skills by becoming active investigators who demonstrate creativity and learn the ability to tackle new and exciting challenges.
Community-Based Global Learning
Through Community-based Learning Programs in the UAE, NYU Abu Dhabi guides students in reading and engaging with the dynamic text of the real world.
