Community-based Learning (CBL) Abroad
NYUAD classes engage in community-based learning abroad, such as:
- In Ethiopia, students documented the Chekelot Church site through photography and other methods.
- In Italy, students met with the Director of Excavation and discussed papyrus preservation and the ethics of exhibiting human remains.
Seminars Across the Globe
Over 40 courses at NYUAD have community-based learning components, including:
- In the Philippines, students explored community-led efforts in Decalachao and San Josť.
- In Ukraine, students interacted with former President Viktor Yushchenko and other government officials.
- In Eritrea, students learned about medicine in the Nakfa Trenches and interviewed Yemane Gebreab, President's Advisor.
- In Jordan, students met with the British Ambassador and visited the headquarters of the United Nations.
