The Humanities Research Fellowship for the Study of the Arab World invites distinguished scholars to apply for its Research Writing Workshop. The workshop aims to foster a scholarly community for up to 8 scholars from around the world and to advance research projects in all areas of the Humanities related to the study of the Arab world.

Location and Duration

The Research Writing Workshop will be held at NYU Abu Dhabi in Winter 2026 and Spring 2026.

Research Areas

The workshop will focus on advancing research projects in all areas of the Humanities related to the study of the Arab world, including:

• Its rich literature and history
• Its cultural and artistic heritage
• Its manifold connections with other cultures

Academic Writing Opportunities

Scholars will have the opportunity to work on any type of academic writing, including:

• Research article
• Book manuscript
• Chapter
• Essay

Eligibility and Requirements

The program is designed for distinguished scholars. However, applications for the 2026 Research Writing Workshop are now closed.
