The school offers Curricular Practical Training (CPT) for international students. The CPT program is designed to provide students with practical experience in their field of study. The program requires students to apply for CPT authorization, which is managed by the Office of Global Services (OGS). The eligibility categories for CPT include:
- A degree requirement for all students to graduate
- The program requires students to choose option 2: A degree requirement for all students to graduate. Other options selected will result in a rejection.
Important Information for CPT Request
The program requires students to have an approved PLC, except for MS Biostatistics students, who must submit an offer letter for the internship. The program also requires students to list Dr. Blaney, Interim Dean of Public Health Practice, as their advisor.
Eligibility Categories for CPT
The program has three eligibility categories, but students can only choose option 2: A degree requirement for all students to graduate.
Full-time Versus Part-time CPT
The program allows students to complete full-time CPT during the summer semester and part-time CPT during academic semesters.
Dates are Important
The program requires students to submit their CPT requests on time, as CPT requests cannot be backdated. The program also requires students to complete their internships by the specified dates, including April 15 for Spring graduating students.
