Program Overview
Introduction to the DDS/MBA Program
The DDS/MBA program is a dual degree offered by the NYU College of Dentistry and NYU Stern School of Business. This program is designed to equip practicing dentists with a comprehensive understanding of the business side of healthcare, enabling them to excel in both solo practice and corporate-owned offices.
Program Structure
The DDS/MBA program takes five years to complete, compared to the six years required when pursuing the degrees independently. The first two years are spent at the College of Dentistry, with the remaining three years divided between the College of Dentistry and Stern. During the third calendar year, students take core MBA courses while continuing to hone their clinical skills eight hours a week at the College of Dentistry. In the fourth and fifth calendar years, students take their remaining DDS and MBA courses within a flexible format that allows them to adjust clinical practice time as needed and take business courses when offered.
Admission to the DDS/MBA Program
Admission to the dual degree program is limited to enrolled students in the NYU DDS program. Students are selected and nominated by the Dental School, with a limit of five dual degree students for the first year of the program. Dual degree applicants are not required to take the GMAT or GRE.
