Introduction to the NYU Tandon Bridge Program
The NYU Tandon Bridge course is a 100% online program designed to prepare students without a Computer Science degree or substantial programming experience for select NYU Tandon Master's Degree programs.
Program Overview
In this course, students will learn computer science fundamentals and programming with C++. The Bridge program is a non-credit certificate course, and students who complete it with a final grade of C or above will earn a Certificate of Completion. Those who earn a B+ or above will receive a Certificate of Completion with Distinction.
Program Structure
The NYU Tandon Bridge course is taught by faculty members of the Computer Science department at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering, aided by NYU Tandon Graduate student teaching assistants. The program includes:
- Interactive online modules
- Live webinars
- Assignments
- Tests
- Each week, professors host a virtual lecture and discussion session
- A recording of each lecture is posted to the course site for those who cannot attend
- Teaching assistants host virtual office hours
Eligibility and Requirements
To be eligible for the Bridge Program, applicants must:
- Not have a Computer Science background or similar
- Have little to no prior programming experience
- Have completed a 4-year or 120 credit Bachelor's degree (or US equivalent) prior to the start of the course
Program Details
Prior to the start of the course, students will gain access to an online orientation where they can interact with classmates and take a practice exam. The program includes 4 exams at fixed times and dates, which students must be able to attend. Students are expected to set aside time to study and complete homework assignments by the due dates.
