Introduction to the NYU Abu Dhabi Visiting Student Semester Undergraduate Research Assistantship
The NYU Abu Dhabi Visiting Student Semester Undergraduate Research Assistantship provides a unique opportunity for visiting students to contribute to ongoing research projects under the supervision of an NYUAD faculty member. This assistantship offers students the chance to work alongside a mentor, collaborator, and role model, while also gaining access to state-of-the-art research facilities on campus.
Program Details
The research assistantship allows students to engage in a variety of activities, including:
- Laboratory sample preparation and field experiments
- Experimental data analysis
- Collecting original data
- Analyzing quantitative data
- Writing literature reviews or research reports
- Filming videos to assist with research outreach and communication Students participating in the program will receive up to $3,000 in support for their study away from NYUAD.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the research assistantship, students must:
- Be currently enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at NYU New York or NYU Shanghai
- Have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours of study before coming to NYU Abu Dhabi
- Have applied to study at NYU Abu Dhabi for semester study
- Be physically present on campus in Abu Dhabi for the relevant semester of the assistantship
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, with a good overall academic and disciplinary record
- Demonstrate a strong interest in and preparation for the research, or its equivalent in the arts
Application Deadlines
The deadlines for application are:
- Mid-September for spring semester
- Mid-March for fall semester
