Program Overview


Introduction to the Program

The Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) offers a comprehensive program designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. This program is structured into several stages, each focusing on a different aspect of pandemic management and mitigation.


Learning Outcomes

The program aims to achieve the following learning outcomes:


  • Describe the negative impact that misinformation has on the pandemic.
  • Evaluate information to avoid misinformation traps.
  • Apply strategies to reduce the risk of contracting and spreading COVID-19.
  • Recognize the science behind vaccinations and how they work to protect public health.

Program Structure

The program is divided into several stages:


Stage 1 - Train to Become a Scholar

This stage includes modules such as:


  1. The Infodemic
  2. How information spreads
  3. Repeat, Repeat, Repeat
  4. How to counteract the infodemic (4 simple steps)
  • Take a breath
  • Assess the source
  • Do your research
  • Be a good example Participants will have the opportunity to engage with challenges and assessments to level up.

Stage 2 - Train to Become a Guardian

This stage covers topics including:


  1. COVID-19 Signs and Symptoms
  2. How COVID-19 is transmitted
  3. Who can get infected with COVID-19?
  4. Preventing the spread of COVID-19
  • Clean your hands
  • Wear a Mask
  • Physical Distancing
  • Get vaccinated! Similar to Stage 1, participants will engage in challenges to progress.

Stage 3 - Train to Become a Master

The focus of this stage is on:


  1. All about vaccinations
  2. How vaccines work
  • Training your immune system
  1. Types of COVID-19 Vaccines
  2. Why vaccinations matter
  • Protecting your Community
  1. Myth or Truth? Participants will again face challenges to level up.

Final Stage - Beat the Boss

In the final stage, participants will:


  1. Engage with the Beat the Boss Challenge - Part 1
  2. Achieve 50% Progress!
  3. Complete the Beat the Boss Challenge - Part 2
  4. Reach 100% Progress!
  5. Emerge as a Winner!

Receive Your Legend Certificate

Upon completion, participants will:


  1. Receive Congratulations!
  2. Complete a Final Survey
  3. Have the opportunity to Share their achievement
  4. Be introduced to additional resources or next steps.
