Open Games Workshop
The Open Games Workshop is a lecture course that focuses on game development, game design, and augmented reality. The course is led by Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang H—hl and consists of three modules that cover digital real-time technologies, 3D simulation, and game engines.

- The course is only available to master's students in Media Informatics/Computer Science.
- Bachelor's students can participate under special circumstances, but priority is given to master's students.

Contents
The course operates like a "Bar-Camp" with multiple parallel sessions for students and partners from industry, business, and research. The focus areas include game development, game design, augmented reality, simulation games, simulation, and industrial applications, as well as 3D real-time visualization with open-source software. The goal is to create a functional game application by the end of the semester.
Requirements
- Participants should bring their own notebook with the required software (Blender and Unreal Engine) installed.
- Students are expected to watch video tutorials for the Unreal Engine before the course.
Students
The course is suitable for:
- Master's students in Media Informatics
- Master's students in Computer Science Bachelor's students can participate if there are available spots, but the course is not eligible for credit towards their bachelor's degree.
Registration
Applications are accepted through central application facilities. The number of participants is limited to 24 students, with a waiting list for additional applicants.
