Program Overview


Introduction to the Probestudium Program

The Mathematische Institut der LMU M鮾chen invites interested students from the 9th grade onwards to participate in the LMU-Mathe-Sommer, a one-week lecture series led by Dr. Ralf Gerkmann. The program focuses on the theme of prime numbers and the Riemann hypothesis, providing students with an insight into the world of number theory.


Program Details

  • The program takes place from September 2 to 6, 2013, at the Mathematisches Institut der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universit舩 M鮾chen.
  • The lecture series will cover the significance of prime numbers in number theory and their practical applications in cryptography.
  • Students will have the opportunity to participate in exercise groups and an excursion to one of the art museums in Munich's Museumsviertel.

Participation Requirements

  • Students should have completed the 9th grade to participate.
  • The program is free, but lunch in the cafeteria costs 3-4 per day.
  • Travel and accommodation costs must be covered by the participants.
