Vorlesung Medientechnik
Overview
The Medientechnik lecture provides an overview of techniques for realizing digital media. The course covers two main areas: hardware-related aspects of media technology and programming of media-related applications in Java.
Course Details
- Lecture: The lecture is a compulsory course for students in the 4th semester of Medieninformatik.
- Credit Points: 4 SWS (semester weeks) for the lecture and 2 SWS for the exercise.
- Instructors: Prof. Andreas Butz, with exercise leadership by Raphael Wimmer, Florian Schulz, and Michael Pollner.
Leistungsnachweis
To obtain a certificate of achievement, students must successfully participate in the final exam at the end of the semester. The prerequisites for participating in the exam include submitting all nine exercise sheets (with one free pass allowed) and achieving at least 50% of the points awarded (i.e., 45 out of 90). For participation in the practical exercises (photo, video, audio), it is necessary to have submitted all the exercise sheets that were due beforehand (with one free pass allowed).

- Hardware-related aspects of media technology (input/output techniques, film/video technology, etc.)
- Programming of media-related applications in Java
These areas are intertwined throughout the lecture to provide a comprehensive understanding of the technical background and programming concepts.
