Course Content

The course begins with the programming language "Processing," specifically designed for designers, and later transitions to Java to teach fundamental object-oriented programming skills. These skills are essential for the Kunst und Multimedia (Art and Multimedia) program. The lecture includes a practical project where students develop the game "Pong" step by step with the instructors, allowing for creative ideas and individual solutions. The exercises are practice-oriented, take place directly on the computer, and support students in completing homework assignments.

Target Audience

This course is suitable for:

  • Students with a minor in Media Informatics (Bachelor's degree)
  • Students from the Industrial Design program at TUM
  • Students from the "Media, Management and digital Technologies" program at TUM who need to make up ECTS points in this area

Teaching Approach

The course combines theoretical foundations with practical applications, using "Processing" and Java to introduce students to programming principles. The development of the "Pong" game serves as a comprehensive project that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical skills, fostering creativity and problem-solving abilities among students.
