Program Overview

Graduate Program in Food Engineering

The Graduate Program in Food Engineering (PPGEA) aims to train highly qualified human resources at both the master's and doctoral levels, providing a solid academic-scientific foundation that enables professional placement in various areas of Food Engineering, particularly in Teaching and Research activities.

Presentation

The program has the following specific objectives: to achieve excellence in core subjects of the field (thermodynamics, transport phenomena, mathematical methods, etc.); to provide students with knowledge in the diverse areas of Food Engineering through courses covering fundamental concepts and current topics of interest; and to train students to conduct high-level, independent research in innovative and contemporary lines, aiming to reach standards of international excellence.

Mission and Vision

Mission

To train professionals and produce high-level scientific knowledge in Food Engineering, aiming at social well-being.

Vision

The vision of PPGEA is to consolidate excellence in the inclusive training of human resources and to operate at the forefront of knowledge in Food Engineering, ensuring that the program continues to be recognized nationally and internationally.

History

The Graduate Program in Food Engineering (PPGEA) at the School of Food Engineering (FEA) of UNICAMP is one of the pioneering courses in Brazil. The PPGEA established its master's program in 1969, while the doctoral program began in 1980. Since then, master's theses and doctoral dissertations have been produced with excellence and, together with high-impact publications, have highlighted the Program both nationally and internationally.
