Program Details
A student from the Postgraduate Program in Nursing (PPGEnf) at Unicamp is conducting research at King's College London, United Kingdom, through the Sandwich Doctorate Program Abroad (PDSE/CAPES) Notice nş 26/2024. The research, titled "Racial Relations in Higher Education: A Comparative Analysis between Brazil and England," aims to gather material to discuss similarities and differences in how racism impacts the experiences of black students in England and Brazil.
The student, Giovanne Paulino, has also given lectures at the Universities of Oxford and Kent, discussing manifestations of racism in Brazil and presenting their research, "Vivęncia Ubuntu: an anti-racist education strategy for higher education." This research proposes formative practices based on the African philosophy of Ubuntu as a way to promote inclusion, diversity, and the confrontation of racism and other forms of oppression in universities.
