Program Overview

The Graduation in Geology program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the Earth's composition, structure, and processes. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be equipped to perform topographic, geodetic, geological, geochemical, and geophysical surveys, as well as conduct studies related to Earth sciences.

Professional Profile

Graduates of the program will be able to:

• Perform levantaments and research on mineral deposits, energy resources, and water resources
• Conduct environmental impact assessments and legal studies related to their specialties
• Teach Earth sciences at basic and advanced levels

Professional Exercise

The professional exercise of geologists is regulated by Federal Law No. , of June 23, 1962.

Curriculum

To graduate from the program, students must obtain a total of 304 credits, corresponding to 4560 hours of supervised activities, in addition to 75 hours of distance learning activities, totaling 4635 hours. The program can be completed in 10 semesters, with a maximum duration of 16 semesters.

Recognition

The program is recognized by the State Board of Education (CEE/GP) through Ordinance No. 450 of November 14, 2002, and renewed by Ordinance No. 451 of October 17, 2011.

Credit Limit

The maximum number of credits allowed for semester registration is 40 credits per academic period.
