Program Overview


Introduction to the Physical Education Program

The Faculty of Physical Education at Unicamp, founded in 1985, is part of the largest Unicamp campus, located in Campinas-SP. It offers a selection of professionals and a continuing education program considered five-star by the Guia do Estudante publication. The faculty provides two modalities of training: Bachelor's and Licentiate, in both daytime (4 years) and nighttime (5 years) periods.

The Structure

The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, requested by high-performance coaches and athletes, distributed across various environments. There are laboratories for:


  • Physiology of exercise
  • Biomechanics instrumentation
  • Adapted motor activity
  • Body image
  • Aquatic activities
  • Gymnastics
  • Fights
  • Strength
  • Body composition Among others. There is also a complete computer lab and a private library with an infinity of titles available to students. The modern structure includes air-conditioned classrooms and complete multimedia equipment in all faculty classrooms, study rooms, and Wi-Fi, in addition to sports facilities with multi-sport courts, athletics track, dance room, sports gym, and aquatic complex.

Exchange Program

The FEF has projects in partnership with several prestigious universities worldwide, which enables exchange opportunities that further enrich the curriculum.


Teaching Philosophy

The teaching philosophy, which forms the most disputed professionals in the job market, is based on a tripod consisting of:


  • Excellence of the pedagogical team, formed entirely by doctoral professors with global projection
  • Pedagogical project, with a broad, current, and diversified curriculum, in constant modernization
  • Integration of theoretical and practical teaching, promoted in research and extension projects, which put the student in contact with the different activities developed

Curriculum Focus

The course focuses on the training of professionals fully capable of facing the new and constant challenges of the area, in a human, ethical, critical, and constructive way. The bachelor's degree in physical education graduated from FEF will be able to act in the prescription of physical exercise for different social applications (children, adults, elderly, athletes, and individuals with special needs), various objectives (health, leisure, sports initiation, high-performance sports, adapted sports, management, consulting, and planning of sports events), and in different markets (clubs, gyms, companies, hospitals, clinics, hotels, public agencies, NGOs).


Already in the licentiate, the student graduated from FEF will be able to work in the planning, execution, and evaluation of the curriculum of the Physical Education discipline in Basic Education, in scientific research related to school physical education issues, and in the elaboration of teaching programs in school.


Curriculum Proposal

The FEF offers a graduation course in both daytime (8 semesters) and nighttime (10 semesters) periods, and the student has the possibility of graduating with a double degree, licentiate and bachelor's, in an integralized and consistent formation. The curriculum is aligned with national and international trends in professional training for education, sports, health, quality of life, adapted physical education, through research and interdisciplinary work. Students have learning stimulated by research, internships, study groups, extension projects, in a process of continued formation, guaranteeing a wide range of possibilities to be worked on in their interfaces, differences, and, above all, theoretical depth.
