For a good performance in the course, prior knowledge of computer science is not required. However, skills such as technical reading in English can contribute to better development of studies. Enjoying calculations, logical and abstract reasoning is desirable for good student performance.

Differences

The Technology in Systems Analysis and Development course differs from the Bachelor's degree in Information Systems due to its duration and focus. The Information Systems course lasts eight semestres, focusing on systems, entrepreneurship, innovation, project and people management, and deepens into information systems theory and specific areas of computing. In contrast, the Technology in Systems Analysis and Development course is shorter (six semestres) and provides a more intense practical experience for students in solving computational problems.

Areas of Activity

Given the computerization of virtually all sectors, the presence of IT professionals has become indispensable. These professionals can work in all areas of computer application: software development, analysis of industrial, financial, and administrative projects, management and development of computer network projects, supervision of computer resources, technical support for hardware and software applications, creation and use of databases, and implementation of processes aimed at quality certification in software development, among others.

Infrastructure

The Faculty of Technology is located in Limeira (SP) and has a good teaching and research infrastructure. It boasts a highly qualified teaching staff, with most professors holding doctoral degrees and dedicating themselves fully to the course. The laboratories are well-equipped and updated, offering students the possibility of developing technical, scientific, and social projects.
