Artista Residente Program
The Artista Residente program is designed to support artists in their creative endeavors. One notable participant in this program is Hilda Hilst, a renowned writer, poet, and dramaturga.

Hilda Hilst was born in Ja·, SŃo Paulo, in 1930. She was the first invited participant in the Artista Residente program in 1985.

Biography
Hilda Hilst was born on April 21, 1930, in Ja·, SŃo Paulo, to Apol¶nio Hilst and Bedecilda Vaz Cardoso. She studied in SŃo Paulo, attending Colķgio Santa Marcelina and Instituto Mackenzie. In 1948, she enrolled in the Law program at the University of SŃo Paulo (USP), graduating in 1952. During her undergraduate studies, she published her first poetry book, "Pressßgio" (1950), followed by "Balada de Alzira" (1954). Hilst continued to produce literary works, including "Trovas de Muito Amor para um Amado Senhor" (1960), "Ode Fragmentßria" (1961), and "Sete Cantos do Poeta para o Anjo" (1962), for which she won the Pen Clube de SŃo Paulo award. She also wrote several theatrical texts. In the mid-1960s, Hilst returned to the interior of SŃo Paulo, eventually moving to her property, Casa do Sol, in Campinas in 1966. In 1977, she published "Ficń§es," which received the Best Book of the Year award from the AssociańŃo Paulista de CrĒticos de Arte (APCA). Three years later, the APCA awarded Hilda Hilst the Grand Prize for her body of work. After participating in the Artista Residente program, she worked at the Instituto de Artes (IA) and the N·cleo de Desenvolvimento da Criatividade (Nudecri) at Unicamp until December 2000. Hilda Hilst passed away on February 4, 2004, in Campinas.
