Program Overview


Diagnostic Imaging Physics Residency Program

The Diagnostic Imaging Physics Residency Program at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) aims to produce highly trained medical physicists who will improve patient care by optimizing imaging equipment procurement, usage, and maintenance, and who will advance imaging science by engaging in interdisciplinary team research.


Program Overview

The program admits one new resident per year with a July 1st start date and provides two years of post-graduate clinical training. Residents will have the opportunity to conduct clinically-based research throughout the program. OHSU is the state's only academic medical center, providing residents with unique opportunities to gain professional experience in areas of teaching and presenting.

Application Process

Applicants must have a Master's or Doctoral degree from a CAMPEP-accredited medical physics program. The program participates in the MedPhys Match, and applicants must submit official transcripts, a personal essay, three letters of recommendation, and a curriculum vitae. Select candidates will be invited to initial video interviews, followed by final interviews with program faculty and current residents.


Salary and Benefits

Residents receive OHSU employee benefits, with starting salaries ranging from $72,344 (M.S.) to $79,382 (Ph.D.). Residents receive a 3% raise for the second year.
