Program Overview

The Pre-Health program has specific scholastic expectations that students must meet to progress successfully.

Basic Scholastic Expectations

To maintain good standing in the program, students are required to:

• Maintain a minimum 2.0 Semester, Cumulative, and LSU GPA.
• Earn a grade of C- or better in all required science and mathematics courses, as well as in ENGL 1001 and ENGL 2000.

Course Requirements

If a student receives a D or F grade in a course that requires a C- or better, they must retake the course the next semester when they are in residence and the course is offered.

Biochemistry Option

The Biochemistry Option includes:

• BIOL 4087 or BIOL 4093 and BIOL 4094, which must be taken in consecutive semesters.
• If the BIOL 4093 and BIOL 4094 sequence is taken, two hours will apply towards the approved free electives.
