The Indiana University School of Nursing offers a range of programs for students pursuing a career in nursing. The school provides a comprehensive education that prepares students for the changing healthcare landscape.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
The BSN program is designed to prepare students for a career in nursing. The program offers three tracks: traditional, accelerated second degree, and RN to BSN.
Traditional Track
The traditional track is for students who do not have a bachelor's degree or prior nursing education. This track requires four years of full-time study, and all coursework takes place on the home campus.
Traditional TrackHonors Program
High-achieving students can pursue the traditional track with opportunities to work with a faculty mentor and conduct important research.
Second Degree Accelerated Track
The second degree accelerated track is for students who have completed a 120 credit hour accredited baccalaureate degree in a non-nursing field and would like to pursue a nursing career.
RN to BSN Degree Completion Option
The RN to BSN degree completion option is for registered nurses who want to earn a BSN degree. All coursework takes place online.
Application Deadlines
The application deadlines for the BSN program are as follows:
- Fall entry:
- Applications available online: January 15 to April 15 (Traditional BSN), January 15 to June 15 (Accelerated BSN)
- Final course completion deadline: End of spring semester (Traditional BSN)
- Priority deadline for course completion: Mid-July (Accelerated BSN)
- Notifications sent to students: June 1 (Traditional BSN), End of July (Accelerated BSN)
- Nursing coursework begins: August (Traditional BSN and Accelerated BSN)
- Spring entry (Indianapolis and Fort Wayne only):
- Applications available online: July 15 to November 15 (Traditional BSN and Accelerated BSN)
- Final course completion deadline: End of fall semester (Traditional BSN)
- Priority deadline for course completion: Mid-December (Accelerated BSN)
- Notifications sent to students: December 15 (Traditional BSN), End of December (Accelerated BSN)
- Nursing coursework begins: January (Traditional BSN and Accelerated BSN)
- Summer entry (Second Degree Accelerated track only):
- Applications available online: January 15 to March 15
- Priority deadline for course completion: Mid-March

Licensure
The IU School of Nursing academic programs are designed to prepare students to sit for applicable licensure in Indiana. Students who plan to pursue licensure in a state other than Indiana should review each state's educational requirements for licensure and certification and state licensing board contact.
