BSN-DNP Nurse Practitioner Program
The BSN-DNP Nurse Practitioner program is a hybrid program that prepares graduates to be healthcare leaders ready to provide direct patient care and work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers.
Program Details
- The program has four specialty tracks.
- Courses are taught by IU faculty at the top of their profession.
- Hands-on lab experiences and clinical hours in the state-of-the-art Fairbanks Simulation Center prepare students to confidently and competently deliver care.
- Cohorts start one time per year, in the fall.
- The BSN-DNP degree can be completed in three years full-time or four years part-time and includes 66 credit hours and 1,005 clinical hours.
Specialty Tracks
The BSN-DNP Nurse Practitioner program offers the following specialty tracks:
- Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner: Uses high acuity clinical expertise to improve the health outcomes of critical ill adults.
- Family Nurse Practitioner: Provides comprehensive primary care for individuals across the lifespan and their families.
- Pediatric Nurse Practitioner: Provides comprehensive primary healthcare to well, at-risk, and chronically ill children in a variety of settings.
- Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner: Assesses, diagnoses, and provides clinical management for the treatment of mental illness across the lifespan.
