The Indiana University School of Nursing offers an online RN to BSN Degree Completion Option, providing an affordable pathway for earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. This program is designed to be cost-effective, with transparent pricing and no hidden fees.

Tuition and Fees

The cost of the online RN to BSN Degree Completion Option, including all fees, is:

  • $350 per credit hour for Indiana residents
  • $455 per credit hour for nonresidents

The total cost will depend on the number of transfer credits. Students must earn 120 credit hours to complete the degree, with a maximum of 90 credit hours transferable from previous education.

Examples of Total Cost

  • Example 1: An Indiana resident transferring 90 credit hours must take 30 credit hours at IU, at a cost of $350 per credit hour, resulting in a total cost of $10,500.
  • Example 2: A nonresident transferring 75 credit hours must take 45 credit hours at IU, at a cost of $455 per credit hour, resulting in a total cost of $20,475.

Financial Aid

There are several financial aid options available for students enrolled in the online RN to BSN Degree Completion Option, including:

  • Scholarships
  • Grants
  • Student loans

Financial aid is awarded through the student's campus of enrollment, which is determined during the application process. The financial aid office or scholarship office at the assigned campus can provide more information on available financial aid options.

Applying for Financial Aid

Students can apply for most forms of federal, state, and institutional aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which determines eligibility for financial aid. The FAFSA can be submitted before applying or being admitted to the RN to BSN program.

Scholarships

The IU School of Nursing offers more than $700,000 in scholarships to nursing students each year. After campus assignment, the RN to BSN academic advisor can provide information on nursing scholarships. Students may also be eligible for other IU scholarships, which can be applied for after admission by submitting the IU General Application.

Tuition Reimbursement

Many employers offer tuition reimbursement for programs that enhance job skills. Students should contact their employer's HR office for details.
