Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (B.S.Ch.), A.C.S. Certified - TSAP, is a degree program offered by the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology. This program is specifically designed for students who transfer to IU Indianapolis from Ivy Tech Indianapolis with an Associate of Science in Chemistry on the Indiana Transfer Single Articulation Pathway (TSAP) plan.

Program Details

The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry is a certified program by the Committee on Professional Training of the American Chemical Society (ACS). Transfer Single Articulation Pathway (TSAP) degree programs allow students at Ivy Tech Community College and Vincennes University to earn an associate degree in a specified field and then transfer to IU with junior status to complete a bachelor's degree in the same field.

Career Opportunities

With a chemistry degree from IU Indianapolis, students will be prepared to take on various roles, including research chemist in industry or academia, or in fields such as medicine and law where analytical and technical skills are highly valued.

Academic Environment

The program provides a supportive environment with innovative teaching methods, such as Peer-led Team Learning (PLTL), which offers a unique opportunity for students to become leaders by teaching others. Through mentoring programs like PLTL, students can expand their subject knowledge while developing team-building, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
