Program Overview

The Social Studies Education program offers certification for grades 6-12 and is available to undergraduate students pursuing a degree in History, Geography, Political Science, or Economics.


Program Requirements

To be eligible for the program, students must complete the following requirements:


  • Earn an undergraduate degree in History, Geography, Political Science, or Economics
  • Complete 24 hours of upper division courses in one area to form a single concentration
  • Note that the concentration must be in one area, and not a combination of the four areas
