Program Overview
Introduction to Harrower Summer Opera
Harrower Summer Opera is a prestigious program that unites talented young opera artists from around the country for an intensive three-week summer session. The program culminates in dynamic opera and scenes productions, providing participants with the opportunity to deepen their performance skills, expand their stage presence, and make meaningful connections to the professional world.
About the Workshop
The workshop is located on Georgia State University's campus in downtown Atlanta and features a faculty of world-class directors, conductors, coaches, and clinicians. Each summer, Harrower Summer Opera produces two fully staged main stage opera productions with its Young Artist participants, with principal roles double cast to present four performances before live audiences.

History
Harrower Summer Opera was founded in 1980 by Peter and Irene Harrower, two internationally acclaimed opera singers. The program has grown into a nationally competitive program for aspiring singers and directors, with a history of providing high-quality training to young artists on their way to becoming opera professionals.
