The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program is designed to prepare nurse leaders to apply evidence into practice.
Graduate Expectations
Graduates of the program are prepared to be scholars in advancing nursing practice and lead organizational system changes designed to improve health care outcomes.
Point of Entry
The point of entry for the program is post Bachelor of Science in nursing or post Master of Science in Informatics, Administration, or Advance Practice (CNS, NP, CRNA, or CNM).
Credit Hours
The program consists of 39 semester hours, including the capstone project.
Clinical Requirements
The program requires a minimum of 500 clinical hours post Master of Science.
Competencies
Courses in the program focus on obtaining skills to translate and apply knowledge to improve systems and health outcomes.
Final Project
The program culminates in the completion of a project that translates research into practice.
