Program Overview
Introduction to the Chinese Language Program at Beihang University
The Office of Chinese Language Education of Beihang University was established in 1994 and is associated with the International Relations Department of Beihang University (BUAA). It is noted for its excellent and experienced teachers, and boasts modern multimedia teaching facilities. The program provides students with various training programs, including a variety of language training courses for Chinese learners and special courses, such as an Elementary Scientific Chinese course for science and engineering students.
Program Overview
The Chinese Language Program is designed for international students at all levels, from beginner to advanced. Taught in small, leveled classes over one semester or an academic year, it focuses on building foundational skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, while comprehensively enhancing communication abilities. Class sizes typically range from 5 to 20 students, which helps ensure ample speaking practice for each student and truly embodies "student-centered" customized teaching.
Curriculum
The courses are divided into elementary, intermediate, and advanced tiers. To accommodate diverse learner needs, all courses offer customization options and flexible enrollment. The curriculum includes:

- Audiovisual-speaking
- Newspaper Reading
Target Audience
Anyone between 18-55 years old and interested in Chinese can sign up for the program.
Teaching Arrangement
- Spring semester: March 2, 2026 ~ July 3, 2026
- Curriculums:
- Elementary A: 0~300, Comprehensive Chinese/Speaking/Listening
- Elementary B: 600 HSK2-3, Comprehensive Chinese/Speaking/Listening
- Intermediate A: 1200 HSK3-4, Comprehensive Chinese/Speaking/Listening
- Intermediate B: 2000 HSK4, Comprehensive Chinese/Speaking/Listening/Reading
- Intermediate C: 2500 HSK5, Comprehensive Chinese/Speaking/Listening/Reading
- Advanced: 3500 HSK5-6, Comprehensive Chinese/Audiovisual-speaking/Newspaper Reading/Writing
- Class time: From Monday to Friday, 45 minutes/class, 20 classes/week
- Class size: At least 5 students/group, 20 hours/week
Admission and Fees
- Tuition Fees: 9000 RMB/semester, 17200 RMB/year
- Accommodation Fees: 30 RMB/day
- Application deadline: January 15, 2026
Completion and Certification
Upon successful completion of the program, students who have completed the compulsory courses with satisfactory academic performance will receive an official academic transcript and a certificate of completion.
