Program Overview
COIL Program
The COIL program is an online program that allows students to learn about the differences between Japanese and Israeli societies. This program is offered in collaboration with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, and is part of the College of Asia Pacific Program offered by the International Student Center.
Program Details
The program will be offered in the spring semester, with a total of 8 lectures. The lectures will be held on Wednesdays, during the 4th period, and will be conducted online, with live lectures.
Course Offering
The course offering is titled "Cultural Difference and Social Change in Japan and Israel." This lecture will focus on the social structure of Japan and Israel, and will discuss contemporary social issues such as:
- Work-life balance
- Family and home life
- Differences between urban and rural life
- Military service in Israel The lectures will be held both in Israel and online, and will be conducted in English.
Taking the Course
To take the course, students are required to register on Campusmate during the course registration period. It is recommended that students:
- Read the syllabus carefully before taking the course
- Attend all lectures, as group work is a main part of the course
- Note that all lectures are given in English
Program Structure
