The CAP program is a summer dispatch program that will be held at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand in 2025.

The 2025 summer dispatch program will be implemented at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand.

Course: Area Studies (South East Asia)
This course aims to learn about common issues in the Southeast Asian region and efforts to solve them through lectures and fieldwork. The goal is to acquire problem-finding and problem-solving skills while facing common issues that are globally expanding. Specifically, the course will delve into issues such as religion and society, gender, international human movement, and social movements through team-based learning.
- The course will be held as a Kyushu University core education course (2 credits, intensive lecture).
- All lectures and discussions will be conducted in English.
Pre-learning: Understanding of Global Agenda
This pre-learning course aims to understand the various common issues faced by international society today and to explore their solutions. It is recommended for participants to take this course to acquire foundational knowledge for team-based learning and to cultivate active discussion and logical thinking skills. English pre-reading and post-reading assignments, as well as writing and mini-report writing, will be given, so it can be positioned as a warm-up for the program.
- The course will be held as a Kyushu University core education course (1 credit, first-term intensive).
- All lectures will be conducted in English.
Recruitment Requirements
The recruitment requirements are as follows:
- Be 18 years old or older
- Have excellent academic performance
- Have a TOEFL ITP score of 460 or higher, or equivalent English proficiency (for non-native English speakers)
- Or have a strong desire to learn
Participation Fee and Application Method
Please fill out the necessary information in the form and apply.
- Application deadline: May 14, 2025 (Wednesday)
- Participation fee: approximately 350,000 yen (subject to change due to exchange rate fluctuations)
- The participation fee includes program fees, round-trip airfare, insurance, and other expenses
- Please prepare additional money for personal use on site
Certificate of Completion
A certificate of completion will be awarded to program participants by Chulalongkorn University.
Required English Proficiency
The required English proficiency for application is a TOEFL ITP score of 460 or higher, or equivalent. Since all lectures and discussions will be conducted in English, participants should be able to concentrate on learning in English for 12 days.

The schedule (reference: past implementation example at Chulalongkorn University) will be notified to participants after they are determined.
